The New Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church was established on November 20, 1983. Our first organizational meeting was held in the home of Deacon Willie Allen & Mary Pearl Farr Mckinney.  Rev. James Trammell answered the call as pastor of the newly organized church.  The church was planted on the word of God, Psalms 127:1 “except the lord build the house, our labor is in vain, except the Lord keep the city, the watchman's watch is in vain ". We began our journey in a small metal building on Gin Street in Sardis MS.

 

In September 1995, God in his wisdom called home Pastor Trammell.  The congregation, through prayer and guidance of the Holy Spirit, elected Rev. Charles Richard Becton as pastor. As elected pastor, his first sermon was delivered on December 10, 1995, entitled “When Love Gets In The Way”. (1st Corinthians 13chapter).  The second Sunday in January 1996, Pastor Becton began the New Year with a sermon titled “God Has Plans For Us” (Ephesians chapter 5) those plans included a new sanctuary with the capacity of 200 members.

 

God has blessed and is blessing our efforts to serve him with every fiber of our being. From John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that we might have life ", we give him the praise and the glory for what he has done and is doing. Be Blessed.
